Louisville Man Sentenced for Firearms Violation
A convicted felon has been sentenced to 5 years in prison for violating federal gun laws in Louisville, Kentucky. Lugene Floyd, 44, was sentenced by United States District Judge David J. Hale yesterday, followed by 3 years of Supervised Release, with no parole in the federal system.
Floyd pled guilty in September to being a felon in possession of firearms. According to the plea agreement and other court records, on April 27, 2016, law enforcement officials executed a search warrant on Floyd’s residence in Louisville, Kentucky. During the execution of the search warrant, law enforcement officials discovered six firearms and numerous rounds of ammunition, including handguns and rifles.
Prior to April 27, 2017, Floyd had been convicted of several felony offenses in Jefferson County, Kentucky, involving drug and firearms offenses.
