Luis Cabrera, Heroin and Fentanyl Trafficking, New Jersey 2022

A New Jersey man will spend nearly eight years behind bars for leading a heroin and fentanyl trafficking organization.

Luis Cabrera, 38, of Perth Amboy, New Jersey, was sentenced to 97 months in prison for his role in the operation, which was centered in a Bronx, New York, drug mill.

Cabrera pleaded guilty on August 24, 2022, to an information charging him with conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute heroin, fentanyl, and methamphetamine.

The sentencing took place in U.S. District Court in Newark federal court.

A New Jersey man is going to prison for leading a major heroin and fentanyl trafficking operation.

The Middlesex County man was found guilty and sentenced to 97 months in prison for running the organization.

Cabrera’s operation was responsible for distributing a significant amount of heroin and fentanyl across the New York metropolitan area.

In addition to his prison sentence, Cabrera will also be under supervised release for four years after his release from prison.
