Luis D. Capo-Nieves, Cocaine Trafficking, New Hampshire 2017

Luis D. Capo-Nieves, a 33-year-old Manchester man, has pleaded guilty to a federal charge of possessing cocaine with the intent to distribute in Nashua.

According to court documents and statements made during Capo-Nieves’s plea hearing, on July 1, 2016, the Nashua Police responded to a citizen complaint about drug dealing activity at a city apartment complex. Officers were dispatched to the parking lot where they observed Capo-Nieves and another individual make an exchange.

A car Capo-Nieves was driving was later stopped by police, and during the search of the vehicle, 279 grams of cocaine were found. The discovery was made after the police were tipped off to the location of the suspected drug activity.

Capo-Nieves is scheduled for sentencing on June 12, 2017. His accomplice, Wilfredo Tanon Rodriguez, who was seen making the parking lot exchange with Capo-Nieves, has also pleaded guilty to a related charge and is set to be sentenced on June 2, 2017.

The case was investigated by the Nashua Police and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Bill Morse.

The guilty plea comes as a blow to the Manchester community, where concerns about drug activity have been growing in recent years. Law enforcement officials have been working tirelessly to combat the issue and bring those responsible to justice.
