According to evidence in the case, Gomez’s criminal possession of a firearm was discovered when he threatened the two women by pointing a loaded gun at them and saying, ‘I’m going to air this place out.’ When the police were called, Gomez and another person fled the scene at a high rate of speed. During the chase, Gomez instructed the passenger to throw the weapon out of the window, and officers observed an object thrown out of the passenger side window. A firearm and a magazine were separately recovered from the path of the chase, and the firearm contained 7 live rounds.

He must also serve a 3-year term of supervised release after the prison term. Gomez is being held in the United States Marshal’s custody until he can be transported to a federal prison.
