Wakpala, SD – A disturbing case of Abusive Sexual Contact has come to a close with a 21-month prison sentence for Adrian B. Spotted Horse, 33. Spotted Horse was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Roberto A. Lange on April 30, 2013, following a guilty plea to a Superseding Information on February 7, 2013.

According to court documents, Spotted Horse made two separate attempts to force sexual contact on the victim on May 31, 2012. This heinous crime was investigated by the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Standing Rock Agency. Assistant U.S. Attorney Troy Morley prosecuted the case.

U.S. Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced the sentencing, vowing to continue to protect the citizens of South Dakota from such egregious crimes. “We will continue to work tirelessly to keep our communities safe from violent predators like Adrian B. Spotted Horse,” Johnson stated.

Spotted Horse was immediately turned over to the custody of the U.S. Marshal after the sentencing. He will also serve 5 years of supervised release and pay a $100 special assessment.
