Royce Loudner, a 46-year-old Sioux Falls man, has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for failing to update his sex offender registration status, according to the U.S. Attorney’s office.
Loudner was previously convicted of sexual abuse and was required to register as a sex offender. He was discharged from Glory House on April 8, 2011, but returned on April 18, 2011.
During his time at Glory House, Loudner failed to update his sex offender registration status or register a new address as required by conditions of his supervised release and federal law.
U.S. Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced the sentencing, which was met with the consent of all parties involved.
Loudner pleaded guilty to the Indictment, which charged him with Failure to Register as a Sex Offender. He was sentenced to 18 months of imprisonment, to be served concurrently with a prior sentence.
Loudner was also sentenced to 5 years of supervised release and ordered to pay $100 to the Victim Assistance Fund.
The investigation was conducted by the U.S. Marshal’s Office, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Meghan N. Dilges prosecuting the case. Loudner was immediately taken into custody by the U.S. Marshal.
The case serves as a reminder of the importance of complying with sex offender registration requirements, which are in place to protect the public.
