Neopit, WI – In a disturbing case of sex abuse, Marshall D. Tourtillott, 26, of Neopit, Wisconsin, has been sentenced to 37 months imprisonment followed by five years of supervised release for the sexual abuse of a minor. This crime was committed on the Menominee Indian Reservation in the state of Wisconsin.
The shocking revelation came to light when it was discovered that Tourtillott had engaged in sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old female at a residence located on the Menominee Indian Reservation. Prior to the sexual conduct, Tourtillott and others had pressured the child into drinking alcohol with them.
The case was investigated by the Menominee Tribal Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Benjamin L. Whittemore.
Tourtillott pleaded guilty to a federal indictment charging him with sexual abuse of a minor on September 12, 2013. His sentence was handed down on December 13, 2013.
