Fort Davis, Texas resident Marc ‘White Eagle’ Travalino, 51, has been slapped with a temporary restraining order by a federal court for allegedly peddling fraudulent coronavirus treatments.
According to a complaint filed by the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Travalino sold treatments to undercover agents that he claimed could ‘destroy’ COVID-19, despite there being no proven cure or treatment for the disease.
Travalino’s business, ‘whiteeaglenativeherbs.net’, was shut down immediately after the restraining order was issued by U.S. District Judge David Counts of the Western District of Texas.
Assistant Attorney General Jody Hunt said, ‘When sellers falsely promise cures for serious diseases, they put the public health at risk.’
Travalino was warned twice to cease and desist by the FDA and FTC, but continued to sell his fake treatments, even after his grandmother was hospitalized with COVID-19.
Travalino allegedly guaranteed the undercover agent that his hospitalized grandmother would not die from COVID-19 if given the medicine.
The public is urged to be cautious of unsolicited emails, online ads, and sales pitches claiming to offer COVID-19 cures or treatments, as these are likely scams.
