Marchelle Harvey, 57, a financial secretary for the Steelworkers Local 67-T Labor Union in Pennsylvania, has been charged with embezzling over $10,000 from the union.
According to the indictment, Harvey stole in excess of $10,000 of union funds from November 2013 through June 2014. The indictment names Harvey as the sole defendant and charges her with one count of Embezzlement from a Labor Union.
The law provides for a maximum total sentence of 5 years in prison, a fine of $250,000 or both. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed would be based upon the seriousness of the offense and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.
Assistant United States Attorney Lee J. Karl is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government. The United States Department of Labor, Office of Labor – Management Standards, conducted the investigation leading to the indictment in this case.
