A federal indictment has been handed down against Marcus Anthony Jackson, also known as Homicide, 49, for possession of a firearm as a felon in Rochester, Minnesota.
According to court documents, on May 25, 2022, Marcus Anthony Jackson was found in possession of a Taurus G2C 9MM pistol. Due to his multiple prior felony convictions in Olmsted, Hennepin, and Ramsey Counties, he is prohibited under federal law from possessing firearms or ammunition at any time.
The indictment alleges that Jackson, a Rochester man, committed the crime in Olmsted County. He is charged with one count of possessing a firearm as a felon.
Jackson made his initial appearance in U.S. District Court today, before Magistrate Judge Tony N. Leung. This case is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Rochester Police Department.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Matthew S. Ebert is prosecuting the case. An indictment is merely an allegation and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
