Fort Wayne, IN – In a disturbing case of child exploitation, 35-year-old Marcus Horston has been sentenced to 240 months in prison for producing and distributing child pornography in the Northern District of Indiana.
The sentence was handed down by U.S. District Court Judge Holly Brady after Horston pleaded guilty to one count of production of child pornography and two counts of distribution of child pornography, as charged in a federal indictment.
According to court documents, Horston used a smartphone to record videos of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct, which he then distributed to others online. The investigation, led by the Fort Wayne Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, uncovered a significant amount of child pornography on Horston’s devices and online accounts.
Horston’s arrest and subsequent conviction are a testament to the efforts of law enforcement agencies to combat the spread of child exploitation materials. The case serves as a reminder that producing and distributing child pornography is a serious crime that can have devastating consequences for victims.
Horston’s sentence includes a lifetime term of supervised release, during which he will be required to register as a sex offender. He will also be subject to a $10,000 fine, which is payable upon his release from prison.
