Greenbelt, Maryland – A chilling tale of murder for hire has unfolded in the state of Maryland, as a 31-year-old Delaware man stands accused of orchestrating a deadly plot.
Marquis Antwan Mack, also known as ‘Ice’ and ‘Goldie,’ allegedly used his cellular telephone and traveled from Delaware to Maryland to arrange a murder for hire between September 3, 2014, and September 12, 2014. According to the indictment, Mack agreed to pay a staggering $1,000 for the murder.
The indictment alleges that Mack used the phone and traveled across state lines to facilitate the crime. If convicted, Mack faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison for his alleged role in the murder for hire scheme.
As of now, Marquis Antwan Mack remains detained, awaiting the scheduling of an initial appearance. It’s essential to note that an indictment is not a finding of guilt and that Mack is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The investigation into Mack’s alleged crimes was a collaborative effort between the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives – Baltimore Field Division, the Dover Police Department, and the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Maryland.
United States Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein commended the agencies involved in the investigation, praising their dedication to bringing the perpetrator to justice. Assistant United States Attorneys Daniel C. Gardner and Leah J. Bressack are leading the prosecution of the case.
