BODY:
Two young thugs are headed to the slammer after a brazen carjacking at gunpoint left a group of construction workers shaken. Marterrio Armstrong, 21, of Memphis, Tennessee, and Jacam’Ron McIntosh, 21, of Oxford, Mississippi, were sentenced to a combined 21.5 years in prison for their roles in the heinous crime.
According to evidence presented in court, the pair struck on November 24, 2024, when they approached a group of nine construction workers in Memphis. With guns drawn, Armstrong and McIntosh demanded the workers’ property, threatening to harm them if they didn’t comply. The defendants worked in tandem, with Armstrong keeping the workers at gunpoint outside while McIntosh dragged a tenth victim outside at gunpoint.
The duo made off with the workers’ wallets, cell phones, money, and keys, and drove away in one victim’s Nissan Maxima. But their getaway was short-lived. Less than an hour later, Memphis Police Department officers tracked one victim’s cellphone to a residence in Memphis, where they found the stolen car hidden behind several trash cans in a carport.
Inside the residence, officers located Armstrong and the victim’s stolen property. The defendants’ reckless disregard for human life and property has earned them a combined 21.5 years behind bars. Armstrong was sentenced to eight and a half years in prison, while McIntosh received a 13-year sentence.
