Two individuals, both Mexican nationals, have been charged with violating U.S. immigration laws in the Middle District of Pennsylvania.
Martin Perez-Gomez, 30, is accused of knowingly and unlawfully reentering the United States after being previously deported in June 2008. He was arrested in Adams County, Pennsylvania.
Perez-Gomez, if convicted, faces a maximum sentence of up to two years’ imprisonment and a $250,000 fine. He is currently awaiting trial.
The investigation was conducted by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
A federal grand jury in Harrisburg indicted Perez-Gomez on a one-count indictment. Indictments are only allegations and all persons charged are presumed innocent until found guilty in court.
