ROANOKE, VIRGINIA – A Salem man, Marvis Maurice Johnson, was sentenced to federal prison for his involvement in a cocaine conspiracy and firearm charges.
Johnson, 31, of Salem, Va., previously pled guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute more than 280 grams of cocaine and one count of illegally possessing a firearm by a previously convicted felon.
According to court documents, the investigation into Johnson’s activities was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Roanoke County Police Department.
Assistant United States Attorney Andrew Bassford prosecuted the case for the United States.
Johnson’s sentence of 112 months in federal prison is a result of his guilty plea and will serve as a reminder of the consequences of engaging in illicit activities.
