Maryland Heroin Distributor Terard Ansor Sentenced

MARTINSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA – A grim sentence was meted out in the ongoing war on drugs as Terard Ansor, 25, from Baltimore, Maryland, received a 60-month stretch for his role in heroin distribution. The sentence came down today, as Acting United States Attorney Betsy Steinfeld Jividen announced the conviction.

In January 2017, Ansor had already pleaded guilty to one count of ‘Conspiracy to Distribute Heroin,’ marking the start of a saga that spanned from August to November 2015. The accused conspired with others across Berkeley and Jefferson counties to traffic the deadly substance.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Anna Z. Krasinski led the government’s charge against Ansor, ensuring he faced justice for his crimes. The investigation was a collaborative effort, spearheaded by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Eastern Panhandle Drug and Violent Crime Task Force, which is backed by HIDTA funding.

Chief U.S. District Judge Gina M. Groh sat as the presiding judge in this pivotal case, ensuring that justice was served. The severity of Ansor’s sentence underscores the government’s commitment to combating drug trafficking across the state and nation.

The conviction of Terard Ansor serves as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by heroin distribution and the dedication of law enforcement agencies in West Virginia to combat this crisis head-on.
