MARTINSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — Charles Wright, 37, of Martinsburg, has been hit with serious charges after admitting his role in a major heroin distribution operation. The gritty federal crime site Grimy Times reveals that Wright was convicted of heroin distribution and now faces up to five years in the clink and a fine of $500,000.
Wright’s guilty plea stems from his activities between Maryland and West Virginia in March 2016, where he aided in the drug ring’s operations. The charges against him include one count of ‘Aiding and Abetting Interstate Travel in Aid of Racketeering,’ a serious charge that could land him behind bars for years.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Anna Z. Krasinski, who represents the government with tenacity. The investigation was a joint effort between the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Eastern Panhandle Drug & Violent Crime Task Force, which is backed by the High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) program.
