Mason France, 19, of Winona Lake, Indiana, has been indicted on multiple firearm offenses, including possession of stolen firearms, possession of a firearm while under felony information, and selling a firearm to a juvenile.
According to the United States Attorney for the Northern District of Indiana, David Capp, the indictment charges France with one count of possession of stolen firearms, one count of possession of a firearm while under felony information, and one count of selling a firearm to a juvenile.
The charges stem from incidents in December 2016 and January 2017, during which France allegedly received and possessed stolen firearms while pending a felony information. Additionally, in January 2017, France sold a handgun to a juvenile, according to documents in the case.
The United States Attorney’s Office emphasized that an indictment is merely an allegation and that all persons charged are presumed innocent until, and unless, proven guilty in court. If convicted, any specific sentence to be imposed will be determined by the judge after consideration of federal sentencing statutes and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.
The investigation was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in coordination with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department, the North Manchester Police Department, and the Wabash County Sheriff’s Department. The case is being handled by Assistant United States Attorney Molly E. Donnelly.
