Washington, D.C., February 26, 1927 – In a stunning turn of events, John McCabe, accused of murder, was acquitted today by the jury in the highly publicized Busch murder trial. McCabe’s face beamed with relief as he was greeted by his lawyer, James O’Shea, and his overjoyed wife and child outside the courtroom. The young family had endured five months of separation, during which time the child, Jacqueline, had been told that her father was in the hospital. A curious and innocent child, Jacqueline had even asked McCabe if ‘the big crab’ had bitten his foot.
