MCKEESPORT, Pa. — Jared Abraham Ogrosky, 26, has been slapped with a federal indictment for violating federal firearms laws after being caught with a loaded .45 caliber semiautomatic pistol.
According to the indictment, Ogrosky was on supervised release when he allegedly possessed the firearm on March 12, 2024. The law prohibits convicted felons from owning guns or ammunition.
Ogrosky has a history of felony convictions, including drug trafficking and firearms crimes. He now faces up to 15 years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, or both for violating federal firearms laws.
This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence in communities across the country. The investigation was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Allegheny County District Attorney’s Narcotics Enforcement Team, and U.S. Marshals Service.
Ogrosky is presumed innocent until proven guilty. Assistant United States Attorney V. Joseph Sonson will be prosecuting the case on behalf of the government.
