NASHVILLE, Tennessee – In a disturbing case of cyberstalking, 31-year-old McKenzie McClure, also known as Kalvin McClure, was sentenced to 30 months in federal prison for targeting 14 victims in Franklin, Tennessee.
The U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Tennessee, Robert E. McGuire, announced the sentence, stating, ‘Our office and our law enforcement partners will do whatever it takes to keep children safe from harm and hold those who would threaten our school communities accountable for their actions.’
According to the investigation, McClure left a threatening voicemail on the main telephone line at Christ Presbyterian Academy (CPA) on March 24, 2024, the eve of the one-year anniversary of the mass shooting at The Covenant School. The voicemail contained a menacing tone and referenced several acts of terror, including a fictional terror attack from the movie ‘Deadpool 2.’
McClure’s social media activity, which included posting on X (formerly Twitter), regularly referenced CPA, Christ Presbyterian Church, and individuals associated with the school. The posts also referenced school violence, gun violence, and other violent events.
CPA officials discovered McClure’s identity and reviewed her troubling social media and surveillance video, which showed her attempting to access locked buildings, photographing maps of the school grounds, and engaging in other concerning behavior. The school was closed on Monday, March 25, 2024, after law enforcement officials responded to the threat.
McClure was hospitalized and received mental health treatment after being encountered by law enforcement on Monday, March 25, 2024. As she prepared to leave the hospital, agents cautioned her to discontinue posting about CPA.
