Colchester Couple Charged with $1M Cocaine and Fentanyl Trafficking in Vermont
Burlington, VT – A Colchester couple was arraigned today on $1 million cocaine and fentanyl trafficking charges.
Melinda Morgan, 41, and Dale Taylor, 39, were stopped by police on June 30, 2023 near Brattleboro, Vermont.
According to the indictment, Morgan and Taylor possessed cocaine base and fentanyl with the intent to distribute it, and Morgan was found with two firearms in furtherance of the drug trafficking offense.
Both defendants were detained pending further proceedings.
The indictment is an accusation only, and Morgan and Taylor are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
If convicted, Morgan and Taylor face a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison, a $1 million fine, and three years of supervised release.
