A Mendocino County man is headed to federal prison for a decade and a half after admitting to a sickening scheme to prey on a child. Yesterday, a judge handed down a 126-month sentence – 10.5 years – for attempting to coerce a minor into sexual activity online.
The feds didn’t stop there. The investigation also uncovered a stash of child pornography on the man’s devices. He pled guilty to distribution and possession of the illegal material, cementing a grim double conviction.
Court records show the case was handled by the Middle District of California. While details of the initial investigation haven’t been released, this sentencing sends a clear message: online predators will be hunted and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
