Meridian Meth Kingpin Gets 23 Years Behind Bars
A Meridian man has been sentenced to 23 years in federal prison for his role in a massive methamphetamine trafficking operation.
Arrington Lorenzo McGlothin, 46, of Meridian, was sentenced to 280 months in federal prison followed by five years of supervised release for possession with intent to distribute more than 50 grams of methamphetamine and possession of two bulletproof vests after having been previously convicted of a crime of violence, announced U.S. Attorney Gregory K. Davis.
According to investigators, McGlothin was distributing narcotics in the Meridian and Lauderdale County areas before his arrest in March 2015. During the search of his residence, agents seized methamphetamine, heroin, marijuana, multiple rounds of ammunition, two bulletproof vests, and United States Currency.
The case is the result of a joint investigation by Homeland Security Investigations and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics with assistance from the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Erin Chalk prosecuted the case, bringing McGlothin to justice for his crimes.
McGlothin’s sentencing serves as a reminder of the severe consequences of engaging in methamphetamine trafficking. The case highlights the collaborative efforts between law enforcement agencies to combat the scourge of narcotics in our community.
The people of Meridian can rest a little easier knowing that a major methamphetamine trafficker is off the streets and behind bars.
