Meth Kingpin Wilson Gets 15 Years, 8 Months

NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA – Jarvis WILSON, 39, of Jackson, Mississippi, is headed to federal prison for a hefty stretch after pleading guilty to trafficking massive amounts of methamphetamine and illegally packing heat. U.S. District Judge Greg Gerard Guidry handed down an 188-month sentence on September 2, 2025, a punishment reflecting the seriousness of WILSON’s crimes.

WILSON was originally indicted on two counts: distribution of 500 grams or more of methamphetamine, a violation of Title 21, United States Code, Sections 841(a)(1) and (b)(1)(A), and being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Sections 922(g)(1) and 924(a)(8). The judge stacked the sentences – 188 months for the meth charge and 180 months for the gun charge, to be served concurrently. Beyond the prison time, WILSON will also face five years of supervised release (concurrently for both counts) and a $200 mandatory special assessment fee.

Court documents reveal that on April 8, 2024, WILSON peddled at least 500 grams of methamphetamine to a supposed buyer. That deal quickly led to a search of WILSON’s residence, where agents didn’t just find evidence of drug trafficking, but also a cache of weapons. The search uncovered ammunition alongside a Ruger Model LCR, .22 caliber revolver, and a Smith & Wesson Model 1000 Super, 12-gauge shotgun. A convicted felon having those firearms is a serious escalation, and the judge clearly took note.

Acting United States Attorney Michael M. Simpson highlighted the case as a key part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a federal initiative aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence. PSN focuses on building trust within communities, supporting local organizations, and strategically prioritizing enforcement. This case exemplifies the program’s goal of taking dangerous individuals – and their weapons – off the streets.

“This sentence sends a clear message: those who flood our communities with dangerous drugs and illegally possess firearms will face severe consequences,” Simpson stated. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) played a crucial role in the investigation, and Assistant United States Attorney Troy Bell of the Violent Crime Unit successfully prosecuted the case.

WILSON’s 15 years and 8 months behind bars serves as a stark warning to other would-be drug traffickers and gun runners. Grimy Times will continue to track federal cases like this, exposing the dark underbelly of crime and holding offenders accountable. The fight for safer streets isn’t over, but today, a dangerous criminal is off the streets for a long, long time.
