Marco Antonio Damian-Presno, Fake ID Production, Louisiana 2016

Marco Antonio Damian-Presno, a 32-year-old Mexican citizen, was sentenced Tuesday to 10 months in federal prison for producing fake identification, immigration, and Social Security documents from his Bossier City, Louisiana home. The operation, which fed a shadow market for forged papers, ended with a federal conviction and a crackdown on a network of undocumented users.

Damian-Presno, of Puebla, Mexico, pleaded guilty on July 12, 2016, to one count of fraud and related activity in connection with identification documents. U.S. District Judge S. Maurice Hicks Jr. handed down the sentence, which also includes three years of supervised release and the forfeiture of all equipment and proceeds seized during the investigation.

The case began in April 2015 when Shreveport police arrested two undocumented immigrants caught using counterfeit driver’s licenses, resident alien cards, and Social Security cards. Both individuals identified Damian-Presno as their source, launching a probe that quickly zeroed in on his home-based forgery operation.

Agents from Homeland Security Investigations purchased multiple fake documents directly from Damian-Presno, including IDs, driver’s licenses, green cards, and Social Security cards—all crafted in his residence. He admitted to selling three or four forged cards per week, building a steady underground business catering to those living in the U.S. illegally.

On September 9, 2015, federal and local agents moved in and arrested Damian-Presno. A search of his home uncovered a full forgery kit: cash, computers, external storage drives, paper cutters, and laminating machines—all tools of the trade for a man manufacturing false identities under the radar.

The investigation was conducted by Homeland Security Investigations, the Shreveport Police Department, and the Louisiana State Police. Assistant U.S. Attorney Mike O’Mara prosecuted the case, sealing a conviction that underscores the federal crackdown on identity fraud fueling illegal immigration and financial crime across the Gulf South.
