Cocaine Distribution Ring Busted in West Virginia
A Cleveland man has been sentenced to 46 months in prison for his role in a cocaine distribution scheme, authorities announced.
Michael Anthony Toler, 35, of Cleveland, Ohio, was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Wheeling, West Virginia, on February 10, 2021, for his crime.
Toler pleaded guilty in January 2021 to one count of ‘Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine Base,’ a federal offense. He admitted to possessing cocaine base, also known as ‘crack,’ in Ohio County on February 2020.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Shawn M. Adkins prosecuted the case on behalf of the government. The Ohio Valley Drug & Violent Crimes Task Force and the Wheeling Police Department investigated.
U.S. District Judge John Preston Bailey presided over the case.
Toler’s crimes were uncovered in a joint investigation by law enforcement agencies in Ohio County. The Ohio Valley Drug & Violent Crimes Task Force and the Wheeling Police Department worked together to bring Toler to justice.
Toler’s sentencing is a significant blow to the cocaine distribution ring, which had been operating in the Ohio County area for some time. The case serves as a reminder of the ongoing struggle against narcotics trafficking in our communities.
