In a shocking turn of events, Michael Gamble, a 37-year-old former resident of Ambridge, Pennsylvania, has pleaded guilty to a charge of possession with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl. What’s more, a loaded handgun with an attached extended magazine was recovered from a cushion on the couch where Gamble was seated. In a hidden compartment in the basement, officers discovered additional fentanyl, bringing the total amount seized to approximately 90 grams.
Assistant United States Attorney Brendan J. McKenna is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government. The Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General and the Drug Enforcement Administration conducted the investigation that led to Gamble’s prosecution. As a result of his guilty plea, Judge Christy Criswell Wiegand has scheduled sentencing for February 9, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. The law provides for a total sentence of life in prison, a fine of $8,000,000, or both.
