Michael Glenn Glascock, Child Exploitation, Florida 2014

Orlando, Florida – Michael Glenn Glascock, a 39-year-old Merritt Island man, has been sentenced to life in federal prison for his involvement in child exploitation offenses.

Glascock was sentenced by Senior United States District Judge John Antoon, II on August 18, 2014, after pleading guilty to the charges. The sentence includes a concurrent term of 30 years for sexual exploitation of a minor for the purpose of producing child pornography.

According to court documents, Glascock used a three-year-old victim to produce visual depictions of the child engaging in sexually explicit conduct between October 11, 2012, and October 11, 2013. He also posted an online advertisement on Craigslist, which was responded to by an undercover agent with the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.

Glascock communicated with the agent over the Internet and by cell phone, describing his sexual abuse of the minor victim and expressing an interest in meeting the agent and the agent’s fictitious minor daughter. He further expressed a desire to meet and engage in illegal sexual activity with the fictitious child, and he offered to allow the agent to engage in sexual activity with the minor victim.

Agents went to Glascock’s home, where they met him and located the minor victim. The victim was taken to a medical facility and examined for sexual assault. Subsequent laboratory tests revealed the presence of Glascock’s semen on the child’s body, as well as in the child’s diaper.

Glascock admitted to producing pornographic images of the minor victim, to sexually abusing the minor as depicted in some of the images, and to distributing and receiving images of child pornography over the Internet. Agents executed a search warrant at Glascock’s home and recovered his cell phones, SD cards, and the digital camera that he had used to produce some of the explicit images involving the minor victim.

This case was investigated by the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI). It was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Andrew C. Searle as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
