Michael Shane Moore, Methamphetamine Trafficking, Tennessee 2022

A Bristol man has been sentenced to 264 months in prison for his role in a methamphetamine trafficking operation in Tennessee.

Michael Shane Moore, 40, of Bristol, was sentenced by the Honorable Clifton L. Corker in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee at Greeneville on October 5, 2022.

Moore was found to be a career offender based on his criminal history, and as part of a plea agreement, he pleaded guilty to possession with the intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine, in violation of 21 U.S.C. §§ 841(a)(1) and 841(b)(1)(A).

According to the plea agreement, officers with the Bristol Tennessee Police Department located a stolen vehicle at a motel, and during their investigation, they found Moore in possession of 95 grams of methamphetamine, $1,528 in U.S. currency, and a .45 caliber pistol.

Moore will serve 264 months in prison and will be on supervised release for a period of 5 years after his incarceration.

This case was the result of an investigation by the Bristol Tennessee Police Department and the ATF, and it is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program bringing together all levels of law enforcement and the communities they serve to reduce violent crime and gun violence.
