BUFFALO, NY – In a shocking turn of events, Morrell Buster, a 43-year-old Buffalo resident, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute, and distribution of crack cocaine, a charge that carries a maximum penalty of 30 years in prison and a $2,000,000 fine.
According to a statement by Assistant U.S. Attorney Timothy C. Lynch, Buster purchased and distributed crack cocaine between June 2013 and February 25, 2014. On January 17, 2014, Buster was found in possession of three grams of crack cocaine while at the Niagara Outlet Mall in Niagara County, NY.
The plea is the result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, under the direction of Special Agent in Charge Adam S. Cohen and the Lackawanna Police Department, under the direction of Chief James Michel.
Buster’s sentencing is scheduled for June 22, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. before Judge William M. Skretny.
The investigation into Buster’s activities highlights the ongoing struggle against crack cocaine trafficking in the Buffalo area.
