Ivery Myers, Opioid Pill Mill Operation, Texas 2024

DALLAS — A pair of Houston drug kingpins have been sentenced to federal prison for their involvement in a ruthless Texas opioid pill mill operation, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Texas.

Ivery Myers, 64, and Cornelius Delshun Robinson, also known as ‘Tadow,’ 37, were both handed down sentences by U.S. District Judge Sidney A. Fitzwater following their guilty pleas to conspiracy charges. Myers received a 37-month sentence, while Robinson was sentenced to 120 months for their roles in the pill mill.

The duo’s operation spanned from May 2013 through July 2014, according to federal charges, involving the illegal acquisition of pain medications such as oxycodone and hydrocodone. They utilized a network of individuals, often vulnerable or impoverished, to pose as patients at medical clinics to obtain prescriptions. These prescriptions were then filled at designated pharmacies for profit.

Myers admitted to obtaining 120 30mg oxycodone pills with a prescription meant for another individual, and Robinson was implicated in obtaining and distributing thousands of oxycodone pills across Texas and Louisiana. He also paid individuals to pose as patients and filled prescriptions from as far away as San Angelo and Abilene.

The investigation into the operation was led by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigation, with support from multiple local and state law enforcement agencies. Assistant U.S. Attorney Mary Walters prosecuted the case.

Both Myers and Robinson have been in custody since their arrest. The sentencing of these two drug lords is a significant victory for law enforcement in their ongoing battle against opioid trafficking and organized crime.
