United States Attorney Beth Drake dropped a重磅 in Horry County, South Carolina, announcing the arrest of Dennis Heilman, Jeffrey Heilman, Joyce Hendricks, and Becky Hendricks for their alleged roles in a federal oxycodone distribution conspiracy. The defendants, all from Myrtle Beach, were arraigned before a federal judge in Florence this week.
Their indictment levies charges of conspiring to possess with intent to distribute and to distribute oxycodone, a Schedule II controlled substance. Dennis Heilman is facing additional counts for possession and distribution of the deadly drug.
This investigation is a joint effort between the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Fifteenth Circuit Drug Enforcement Unit, and the Horry County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant U.S. Attorney Ben Garner is leading the prosecution in this high-stakes case.
Drake emphasized that all charges are merely accusations, and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
