Narda Yvonne Locklear, Social Security Fraud, Nevada 2026

A Las Vegas woman is accused of running a brazen scam that saw her pocket over $365,000 in Social Security payments meant for her deceased grandmother.

Narda Yvonne Locklear, 38, made her initial appearance in court on February 18, 2026 before United States Magistrate Judge Daniel J. Albregts, answering to charges of bank fraud, theft of government money, and aggravated identity theft.

According to court documents, Locklear began her scheme in April 2009 and continued until February 2026, during which time she improperly received and converted Social Security Retirement Insurance Benefits payments intended for her grandmother.

Locklear possessed a debit card issued in her grandmother’s name, allowing her access to the bank account, while also making false representations to the Social Security Administration in her application for Supplemental Security Income benefits and during redeterminations.

As a result of her actions, Locklear obtained over $365,000 in Social Security payments, a staggering sum that would have been unthinkable to her grandmother, who is now deceased.

Locklear faces three counts of bank fraud, two counts of theft of government money, and one count of aggravated identity theft, punishable by up to 112 years in custody if convicted.

Locklear’s case has been scheduled for a jury trial, set to begin on May 18, 2026 before United States District Judge Andrew P. Gordon. The Social Security Administration, Office of the Inspector General, San Francisco Field Division, investigated the case, with Special Assistant United States Attorney Joseph Weidhaas serving as prosecutor.
