Nathan Robinson, Methamphetamine Trafficking, Indiana 2022

A violent felon has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for his role in a drug trafficking operation in Indianapolis, Indiana. Nathan Robinson, 31, of Indianapolis, was found guilty of distribution of methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, and carrying a firearm during and in relation to a drug trafficking crime.

On January 12, 2022, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) officers attempted to locate and arrest Robinson on an outstanding warrant. Law enforcement officers knew that Robinson was selling methamphetamine in Indianapolis. They located Robinson and stopped him as he was attempting to leave in his vehicle from an address on Redfern Drive in Indianapolis.

Robinson consented to a search of his vehicle, and officers found 71 grams of cocaine, marijuana, two digital scales, plastic baggies, a loaded 9mm Double Tap Defense pistol that had been reported stolen, and over $124,000 inside the vehicle. Robinson admitted that the drugs, the firearm used during his drug dealing activities, and the currency from the drug proceeds belonged to him.

Robinson is prohibited from possessing firearms by federal law due to his prior felony convictions in Marion County, Indiana, including theft, unlawful possession of a syringe, and resisting law enforcement.

U.S. Attorney Zachary A. Myers and Assistant Special Agent in Charge Michael Gannon of the DEA’s Indianapolis Field Office announced the sentence. DEA investigated the case, and IMPD provided valuable assistance. The sentence was imposed by U.S. District Judge Tanya Walton Pratt.

As part of the sentence, Judge Pratt ordered that Robinson be supervised by the U.S. Probation Office for four years following his release from federal prison. U.S. Attorney Myers thanked Assistant U.S. Attorney Abhishek S. Kambli for prosecuting this case.
