Oshkosh Man Charged with Child Pornography in Wisconsin
A federal grand jury in Wisconsin has charged 20-year-old Neil C. Kienast of Oshkosh with possession of child pornography, a crime that carries a maximum 20 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, and five years to life of supervised release if convicted.
The indictment alleges that on January 14, 2016, Kienast possessed a number of movie files that contained images of child pornography. The indictment also provides notice that various computers and storage media devices seized from Kienast are subject to forfeiture.
Kienast is scheduled to appear in court on July 14, 2016, at 2:45 p.m. before the Honorable James Sickel, Magistrate Court Judge. A trial date will be set at that time.
The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney William Roach.
An indictment is only a charge and is not evidence of guilt. The defendant is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial at which the government must prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
Neil C. Kienast, 20, of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, has been charged with possession of child pornography, a violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 2252A.
