A Fort Wayne man has been sentenced to 63 months in prison after a jury convicted him of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, announced Acting United States Attorney Tina L. Nommay.
Neon L. Frazier, 50, was found to be in possession of two firearms during a traffic stop on August 16, 2024. One of the firearms was stolen, and at the time, Frazier was prohibited from possessing firearms due to his prior Indiana state court felony robbery conviction.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and the Fort Wayne Police Department investigated the case, which was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Stacey R. Speith and Dawn Ransom. The case was also part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence.
According to the program’s core principles, PSN fosters trust and legitimacy in communities, supports community-based organizations that prevent violence, sets strategic enforcement priorities, and measures results. The program was launched in 2021 with a violent crime reduction strategy.
Frazier was sentenced on an unspecified date.
