Fort Myers, Florida – A convicted felon from Marco Island has been charged with a serious crime. Nicholas Munson Troemner, 41, faces a significant prison sentence for unlawful possession of a loaded firearm.
According to court documents, Troemner was in possession of a loaded Taurus pistol on February 16, 2023, in North Fort Myers. At the time, he had multiple prior felony firearm and drug-related convictions, making him prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition under federal law.
Troemner agreed to forfeit the pistol and ammunition as part of a plea agreement. He now faces a maximum penalty of 15 years in federal prison. A sentencing date has not yet been set.
This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence in communities. The program brings together law enforcement and community organizations to make neighborhoods safer for everyone.
The investigation was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Assistant United States Attorney Mark Morgan is handling the prosecution.
