A Biloxi man has been sentenced to 17 years in prison for his role in a conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
Nicholas Paul Godsey, 41, was arrested on July 8, 2021, following a traffic stop in Biloxi. During the stop, Federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Agents found methamphetamine, a Glock, Model 17, 9mm pistol, three ammunition magazines, 39 rounds of ammunition, a digital scale, a meth pipe with meth residue, four counterfeit $100 bills, blank checks, and a smartphone in the vehicle he was driving.
Godsey, who previously lived in Alabama and Texas, conspired with others to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine, a Schedule II, federally controlled substance, beginning at least in June 2021. The investigation revealed that Godsey had previously served more than 13 years in federal prison for other narcotics-related convictions and possession of firearms.
Godsey pled guilty on February 16, 2022, to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine. The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the City of Biloxi Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Stan Harris prosecuted the case.
The 210-month sentence was handed down in Gulfport, Miss.
In 2021, Godsey’s vehicle was found with methamphetamine, a Glock pistol, and other contraband. Godsey had previously served more than 13 years in federal prison for narcotics-related convictions.
The investigation into Godsey’s activities revealed a conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine in the Gulf Coast region.
