A Woodbridge woman has been handed a five-year prison sentence for running a high-volume methamphetamine trafficking ring across Northern Virginia. Nina Booher, 36, bought and sold wholesale quantities of the potent stimulant, funneling pounds of the drug into local streets from 2018 onward.
Federal records reveal Booher began by purchasing pounds of meth every two to three weeks from her boyfriend and co-conspirator, Matthew Colby Cochran. But after uncovering the identity of his New York-based supplier, she cut out the middleman and began sourcing the drug directly, boosting both her supply and her profit margins.
The operation came crashing down in November 2018 when law enforcement raided Booher’s Woodbridge home. Inside, agents found over 200 grams of methamphetamine, along with heroin, marijuana, smoking devices, packaging materials, a digital scale, and thousands of dollars in cash—clear signs of a well-organized distribution network.
Booher’s co-conspirator, Cochran, was sentenced earlier this month to three years in federal prison for his role in the drug conspiracy. Authorities say the pair worked in tandem to supply users and lower-level dealers in the region with high-grade meth for over a year.
The investigation was led by the Washington Field Office’s Safe Streets/HIDTA Task Force, a multi-jurisdictional unit comprising law enforcement from Fairfax County, Prince William County Police, Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, Leesburg Police, Vienna Police, Alexandria City Police, and Herndon Police. Their collaboration led to the dismantling of the trafficking pipeline.
U.S. Attorney G. Zachary Terwilliger, FBI Acting Special Agent in Charge Charles Dayoub, and DEA Special Agent in Charge Jesse R. Fong announced the sentencing following the ruling by U.S. District Judge Anthony J. Trenga. Assistant U.S. Attorney Katherine E. Rumbaugh prosecuted the case.
