Kelli Engler, Access Device Fraud, West Virginia 2016

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Kelli Engler, a 39-year-old woman from Nitro, was sentenced to eight months for failing to report to serve her prison sentence, announced United States Attorney Carol Casto.

Engler, also known as Kelli Reed and Kelli Reed-Engler, pleaded guilty to the federal crime. She admitted to violating her supervised release, which was a result of a 2011 federal conviction for access device fraud.

Engler was ordered to serve 90 days of incarceration at the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia. She was required to report to prison by March 25, 2016, but chose to not comply.

Engler then went on the run, leaving law enforcement to track her down. On June 28, 2016, she was apprehended in Tennessee by the United States Marshals Service and the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office.

Engler’s supervised release included requirements that she pay restitution and report to the United States Probation Office. However, she failed to comply with these conditions.

The investigation and apprehension of Engler were conducted by the United States Marshals Service and the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office in Tennessee. Assistant United States Attorney Erik S. Goes is in charge of the prosecution.

United States District Judge John T. Copenhaver, Jr., imposed the sentence of eight months for Engler’s failure to report to prison. Engler will serve her time for violating the terms of her supervised release, which was a result of her previous conviction for access device fraud.
