Red Lodge, Montana, October 11, 1940 – The Carbon County News has reported no major crimes in the area, instead focusing on the upcoming deer hunting season. According to state game authorities, the definition of areas in Carbon County open to deer hunting from October 15 through November 15 has been issued. However, a portion of the county lying east of Sage Creek in the Pryor Mountains will not be open until November 1.
The open areas starting October 15 include that portion of Carbon County bounded on the north by Grove Creek, on the west by the Line Creek plateau, on the south by the Montana-Wyoming line, and on the east by the Clark Fork river to the mouth of Grove Creek. Another defined open area is the part of the county beginning at Sand Ford Bridge on the east Rosebud river.
It seems that the law-abiding citizens of Carbon County are more concerned with bagging a buck than committing a crime. For now, the only ‘crime’ being reported is the lack of big game in certain areas of the county.
As the hunting season approaches, residents are advised to be aware of the designated areas and to respect the rules set by state game authorities. Meanwhile, the Carbon County News will continue to monitor the situation and report any developments.
In other news, the Red Lodge Daily News is still thriving, with its 5th anniversary issue set to be released soon. The paper remains the official news source for the city of Red Lodge, providing readers with the latest news and updates on local events.
