FAYETTEVILLE – A grim reminder of the stakes in the war on drugs came as a Noel, Missouri man faced justice for his role in the meth trade. Trevor Dean Meeker, 31, was sentenced today to 180 months in federal prison followed by three years of supervised release for Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine. The sentence was handed down by the Honorable Judge Timothy L. Brooks in the United States District Court in Fayetteville.
On March 18, 2022, a dramatic pursuit led to Meeker’s capture after his vehicle collided with a privacy fence at a Sulphur Springs Dollar General Store. Inside the car, police found what appeared to be a substantial haul of methamphetamine, along with multiple plastic baggies and counterfeit currency.
Adding to the severity of the crime was the discovery of two loaded firearms in the parking lot near the wrecked vehicle. Meeker’s admission to his involvement in meth distribution during an interview at Benton County Jail only cemented his fate.
The seized methamphetamine, later confirmed by the DEA Laboratory in Miami to contain 173 grams of pure drug, was a stark testament to the scale of Meeker’s operations. U.S. Attorney David Clay Fowlkes announced the sentence, underscoring the commitment to combatting drug trafficking in the Western District of Arkansas.
The investigation into Meeker was a collaborative effort, involving the Sulphur Springs Police Department, McDonald County Sheriff’s Office, and the DEA Fayetteville Division. Assistant U.S. Attorney David Harris prosecuted the case with unwavering determination. This sentence is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), an initiative aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence in our neighborhoods.
Meeker’s fall from grace serves as a stark warning to those who think they can evade justice. His 15-year sentence underscores the government’s resolve to protect communities from the scourge of drug trafficking and related crimes.
