A horrific case of sexual abuse has come to light in Oglala, South Dakota, where a 24-year-old man has pleaded guilty to the crime.
Tim Two Bulls, a resident of Oglala, appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Veronica L. Duffy on May 10, 2013, and admitted to committing the heinous act.
According to the investigation, Two Bulls unlawfully entered the home of another person in the Red Shirt Table Community on December 16, 2011.
During this unlawful entry, Two Bulls engaged in a sexual act with a female without her consent, leaving her shaken and traumatized.
The investigation was conducted by the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Office of Justice Services, and the Oglala Sioux Tribe Department of Public Safety, who worked tirelessly to bring Two Bulls to justice.
Two Bulls now faces a maximum penalty of life imprisonment and a $250,000 fine, a harsh reality that he must come to terms with as he awaits sentencing.
A presentence investigation has been ordered, and a sentencing date will be set. In the meantime, the defendant has been remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshal pending sentencing.
