Fed Up: Inmate Caught with Loaded Weapon in Pennsylvania Prison

An Erie federal grand jury has indicted Oscar Acosta-Levario, a 32-year-old inmate at the McKean Federal Correctional Institution in Bradford, Pennsylvania, on a charge of possession of contraband in prison.

According to the indictment, on or about June 10, 2014, Acosta-Levario was found to be in possession of a weapon, a serious breach of prison security.

Acosta-Levario, a convicted offender, could face a maximum total sentence of five years in prison, a fine of $250,000, or both, if found guilty of the charge.

Assistant United States Attorney Christian A. Trabold is leading the prosecution against Acosta-Levario, who has yet to enter a plea in the case.

The McKean Federal Correctional Institution officers conducted the investigation that led to the indictment, a testament to their commitment to maintaining a safe and secure environment within the prison walls.

It’s worth noting that an indictment is merely an accusation, and Acosta-Levario remains innocent until proven guilty. The trial is expected to shed more light on the circumstances surrounding the alleged offense.
