Osmar Lorenzo-Genchi, Assaulting, Resisting, or Impeding Officer, Nebraska 2026

Assault on Officer

Omaha, NE – In a harsh verdict, Osmar Lorenzo-Genchi, 20, of Omaha, Nebraska, was sentenced to 22 months’ imprisonment on March 18, 2026, in federal court in Omaha for assaulting, resisting, or impeding officer involving the intent to commit another felony.

According to the United States Attorney Lesley A. Woods, Lorenzo-Genchi’s actions on June 10, 2025, put federal law enforcement officers in harm’s way. The incident occurred at Glenn Valley Foods in Omaha, where Homeland Security Investigations special agents were executing a civil search warrant.

Lorenzo-Genchi, identified as a U.S. citizen, was initially escorted off the property and released after the agents completed their interviews and collected biometrics to verify his legal work status in the United States. However, when a Deputy United States Marshal attempted to leave the area, Lorenzo-Genchi obstructed the vehicle’s path by standing in the street and moving in front of it.

As the Deputy Marshals stopped their vehicle to clear pedestrians from the roadway, Lorenzo-Genchi became aggressive. He struck the driver’s side mirror of the law enforcement vehicle with his fist, damaging it, and then grabbed the rear windshield wiper and bent it. In response to being pushed away by a Deputy Marshal, Lorenzo-Genchi turned and spat on him.

When officers exited their vehicles to apprehend him, Lorenzo-Genchi started throwing rocks and debris at law enforcement vehicles, hitting at least seven in total. One rock shattered the rear passenger side window of an occupied vehicle. Due to the increasing crowd of individuals, it became unsafe to apprehend him, and he was later arrested on a federal warrant.

As part of his sentence, Lorenzo-Genchi will also serve a 3-year term of supervised release after his release from prison. He was ordered to pay $2,284.40 in restitution.

U.S. Attorney Lesley Woods emphasized that any assault on federal law enforcement officers who are carrying out their official duties will result in federal charges. Deputies who serve in the United States Marshals Service, like those targeted in this incident, are an invaluable part of the federal law enforcement community.

This case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations.
