Elizabeth Genna Suarez, Wire Fraud, Florida 2018

MIAMI – The grimy truth of corruption struck close to home as Elizabeth Genna Suarez, 34, formerly known as ‘Elizabeth Mirson Suit,’ was found guilty of wire fraud in a West Palm Beach federal court trial.

This sinister scheme spanned from August 2018 to November 2019, where Suarez, married to the executive director of Piper’s Angels Foundation, Inc., a cystic fibrosis support group, siphoned foundation funds for personal use. Her greedy hands reached for the credit card, using it to splurge on an $8,000 deposit for plastic surgery, a $1,680 laser procedure, and a $800 necklace.

The jury convicted Suarez on three counts of wire fraud, while acquitting her on one charge. She faces sentencing on April 6th before the Honorable Donald M. Middlebrooks in West Palm Beach.

Markenzy Lapointe, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida, and Maged Behnam, Acting Special Agent in Charge, FBI Miami, announced the conviction, with FBI Miami leading the investigation and Assistant U.S. Attorney Alexandra Chase prosecuting the case.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Gabrielle Charest-Turken is now handling asset forfeiture. Those looking for more information can visit the District Court for the Southern District of Florida website or PACER, under case number 22-cr-80185.
