In a bizarre incident that has left authorities scratching their heads, 40-year-old Paul Robiecki took a drunken plunge into the Milwaukee River, forcing a daring rescue operation. Witnesses claim that Robiecki donned a swimming suit and leapt into the water just above the North Avenue Bridge, despite being unable to swim. His cries for help were heard by passersby, who promptly summoned the fire department’s rescue squad. Robiecki, who reportedly believes in the invigorating powers of liquor, was subsequently taken into custody and fined $5 in district court for being drunk.
