Federal Jury Convicts Campton Man of Marijuana Manufacturing Charges

Concord, N.H. – A federal jury has found Peter Apicelli, 31, of Campton, N.H., guilty of manufacturing marijuana, a federal crime.

According to evidence presented at trial, in September 2013, Apicelli was renting a property in Campton, N.H., where an outdoor marijuana grow was discovered approximately 200 yards from the residence.

A law enforcement surveillance camera captured video of a male individual, later identified as Apicelli, tending to the plants on September 14. Following a search warrant, police located an indoor marijuana grow in the basement, drying marijuana, packaged marijuana, scales, and other packaging materials. Evidence indicating Apicelli’s residency at the property included a red backpack and tan shorts.

The investigation resulted in the seizure of over 120 marijuana plants from the house and grounds.

Apicelli was found guilty of one count of manufacturing marijuana, in violation of 21 U.S.C. § 841(a)(1), which carries a maximum term of imprisonment of 5 years.

He is scheduled to be sentenced by Senior U.S. District Judge Joseph DiClerico on November 12, 2015, at 10:00 a.m.

This matter was jointly investigated by the Campton Police Department, the Grafton County Sheriff’s Office, and the New Hampshire State Drug Task Force, with assistance from the New Hampshire State Police Forensic Laboratory.

The case is being prosecuted by Acting U.S. Attorney Donald Feith and Assistant U.S. Attorney Charles L. Rombeau.
