Angel Miguel Jorge-Jimenez, Illegal Reentry, PA 2024

Angel Miguel Jorge-Jimenez, 26, of Philadelphia, PA, is back in federal crosshairs, charged with illegal reentry after deportation. The indictment, unsealed today, marks the latest chapter in a criminal spiral that began years after his removal from the country.

Jorge-Jimenez, a native and citizen of the Dominican Republic, was formally deported from the United States on or about May 21, 2013. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, he was found back on American soil on or about October 18, 2016—allegedly without legal authorization to reenter. His return triggered federal charges under immigration law.

The charge of illegal reentry after deportation carries serious consequences. If convicted, Jorge-Jimenez faces a maximum possible sentence of twenty years in federal prison. Prosecutors are treating the case as a priority, citing repeated violations of U.S. immigration statutes.

Investigation was led by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO), the agency tasked with tracking and apprehending deported individuals who return illegally. Their work, officials say, is critical in maintaining border integrity and public safety.

The case is being prosecuted by Special Assistant United States Attorney Josh A. Davison, operating under the authority of United States Attorney Zane David Memeger. No trial date has been set, and court records show Jorge-Jimenez is currently in custody pending further proceedings.

An indictment is not a conviction. Angel Miguel Jorge-Jimenez is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania continues to build its case ahead of trial.
